Users review: Greetings again from the darkness. Great literature rarely great cinema. The media is very different. However, the vast literature, in the right hands, can make a very interesting film. Such is the case with Sir Guy Ritchie interpretation of Arthur Conan Doyles most character.Mr. Ritchie gives us quite a departure from Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce Holmes and Watson. Here the brilliant special effects and stunts and feats almost superhuman. This is another Holmes here is not twisted, meticulous tedious bore in real life. In fact, he lives like a frat boy or a rock star - rooms with trash and did not address the lack of isolation.What Holmes world class attention to detail. The story here is actually very multi-layered and interesting, if not a little high and high concept.
