Users review: Like many comic book fans I was expecting the worst from this movie. This is not because of any character has a shallower depth than the other super-heroes, but I knew that it would be extremely difficult to shift Steve Rogers in the film in proper way. Guy called Captain America for heaven sake.Any comic reader will probably appreciate the irony and especially on defiantly patriotic code name, mainly because the press Cap assumptions challenged by its symbolism, becoming more conflictual and universal figure. But it is difficult to translate all of this idiosyncrasy successfully in 2 hours. Fortunately, the film, instead of political, more old-fashioned pulp as Indy or Sky Captain, thankfully never takes itself too seriously (which was one of the drawbacks of Thor). I had my doubts that Chris Evans could pull modesty and heart needed for the role, but I was wrong. As the Red Skull, Hugo Weaving was great evil in nostalgia, serial villain way. Hayley Atwell is the Sidekick / love-interest with the rare quality of not being incredibly annoying, and Tommy Lee Jones is perfect for the role of Tommy Lee Jones.The reason, I found that it was a good movie because I liked it, plain and simple. He was well photographed and well-acted. Like his protagonist, he modestly embraced his stupidity, creating a charming B-movies. |
